Organisation: International Olympic Committee

ICANN has opened a public comment period on proposals to protect the International Red Cross and International Olympic Committee names at the top level in new gTLDs. While top-level protection would be a positive development for the two organisations, the move has been characterised as a bid to “tidy up loose ends” – and it is the second level that will be the prime concern.
