Rafael Lacaz Amaral acts in litigating IP matters before the state and federal courts, providing consultation services on licensing agreements, patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition. He is also the coordinator of the firm’s anti-piracy and compliance team. He is a board member of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property (ABPI), arbiter for domain name disputes at ABPI’s Arbitration and Mediation Centre and a registered court expert in IP matters.

Admitted to the Brazilian Bar in 2000, Mr Lacaz Amaral has a law degree (2000) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a post-graduate degree in intellectual property (2002) from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, and a post-graduate degree in civil procedural law (2009) from Candido Mendes University.
