Chile: Applying the IP law under the Madrid Protocol

The Chilean Trademark Office has thus far interpreted the Madrid Protocol as self-executing, causing legal uncertainty for international users and limited regulation of nullity actions. This raises questions about how IP Law 19039 and the Exempt Resolution 184-2022 should be applied under the system.
