Bence Bozóki's Profile

Bence Bozóki is an experienced in-house counsel recognised by World Trademark Review as one of the leading trademark professionals in the food and beverage industry globally. He joined Mars in 2015 as IP counsel for the company’s chocolate business. After the completion of the Mars Wrigley merger, he assumed his current global role in the combined confectionery segment. Brands he and his team support include SNICKERS®, TWIX®, DOVE/GALAXY®, MARS®, MILKY WAY® and BOUNTY®. He specialises in creating and executing enforcement strategies, leading trademark litigation work and advising on building a strong global trademark portfolio. Prior to taking on the in-house role at Mars, Mr Bozóki worked at SBGK, a leading IP law firm in Budapest, Hungary. His experience at SBGK included representing clients in various trademark matters before the General Court of the European Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union. Together with his mentor and colleague Péter Lukácsi, Mr Bozóki worked on cases for major client Unilever. This allowed Mr Bozóki to gain insight into the IP challenges of the food and beverage industry early in his career. At Mars, he became known for his passion for brands and successes against lookalike products worldwide. His creative thinking and no-nonsense approach towards tackling infringements helped Mars acquire a reputation as a company that enforces its intellectual property rights in a strategic and consistent way. Mr Bozóki is intuitively familiar with the dynamics of complex infringement cases and finds it engaging to come up with new and innovative solutions to achieve greater impact. He is a regular speaker at industry events, and a member of the MARQUES Unfair Competition Team. He constantly challenges himself to grow and develop both as a leader and as a person. In recognition of this, Mr Bozóki was one of the nominees for World Trademark Review’s In-house Leader of the Year Award in 2023.
