GSK researches, develops, and manufactures pharmaceutical products offering prescription medicines and vaccines to a global patient base. As Global Head of Anti-counterfeiting, Jenny’s responsibilities include leading a team of lawyers and non-lawyers based in Shanghai, Bogota and London. She is responsible for implementing a business-led strategy for prevention, investigations, online and offline enforcement and external engagement to protect GSK patients from falsified GSK medicines and vaccines and she sits on the Intellectual Property Leadership Team. Jenny is Vice Chair of AIM’s Anti-counterfeiting Committee and participates actively in the EFPIA Anti-counterfeiting and Security network, Pharmaceutical Security Institute and INTA. Prior to her current role, Jenny was Assistant General Counsel in the Legal Brand Protection team at GSK, working closely with the business to develop brand names for pipeline products and to provide guidance through the name safety review process. She also supported the global naming, clearance and protection of the new Galvani Bioelectronics company name. In that role she was responsible for trade mark portfolio management, developing trade mark filing and enforcement strategies, handling trade mark oppositions and copyright disputes and providing commercial advice on licensing arrangements, collaboration agreements, acquisitions and divestments. Her background is in private practice having trained and worked for many years at Simmons & Simmons LLP as a Senior Associate in the IP team working on a broad range of prosecution, litigation and commercial matters in the realm of trade marks, copyright, designs and trade secrets.
