Rosanne Yang joined ILG in 2020 and is an intellectual property, advertising, and privacy attorney. With over a decade of in-house experience, Rosie understands the importance of her clients’ operational procedures and challenges, as well as their risk tolerances, and works closely with various members of clients’ teams to facilitate practical problem solving.
Rosie has managed thousands of trademark, domain name, and copyright registrations on behalf of dozens of brands, and has developed and executed IP strategies to assist her clients with clearing, registering, licensing, and enforcing their rights both domestically and internationally. She assists her clients with the use and licensing of third-party intellectual property rights, as well as the rights of publicity and privacy.
She identifies common sense strategies for managing pricing and promotional cadence to reduce retailers’ risks of regulator and class action enforcement under federal and state regulations.
Rosie supports clients’ business objectives to make eco-friendly, social responsibility, health, and performance claims regarding their products and business practices, advising on how to establish substantiation consistent with FTC, FDA, CPSC, and other regulatory frameworks. In addition, she generally advises on advertising campaigns including for TCPA and CAN-SPAM compliance, contest and sweepstakes implementation, disclosure requirements, testimonials and endorsements, and user-generated content.
Rosie advised on COPPA compliance strategies for a prominent national children’s retailer, including guiding the brand through changing business perspectives on engagement with its consumers, and implemented CCPA compliance programs for 8 national brands. She designed and implemented a records management program, wrote information and technology governance policies, and advised her clients on approaches to building reasonable privacy and information security programs.
