Vera Sevastianova is a doctoral researcher in the field of intellectual property (IP) with the focus on trademark law. She devoted the first paper of her PhD project to applying the freedom of choice and autonomy perspective to trademarks and incorporating the lessons from trademark law to the new automated commerce environment. Vera also pays special attention to the intersection of trademark law and freedom of expression as well as covers some topical issues in her field.

Besides conducting research, Vera participates in teaching trademark law as well as other IP-related disciplines at the Hanken School of Economics. Additionally, Vera volunteers to be a tutor of trainees within the IP Campus event of the European Union Intellectual Property Organization.
