Groundbreaking study suggests plain packaging for food could increase consumption

A new study has concluded that plain packaging for food products may reduce an individual’s purchase intent, but could actually lead to increased consumption once a product is purchased or offered. These findings suggest that measures to reduce unhealthy food intake by introducing plain packaging could have “adverse effects”.

Attack on landmark INTEL decision from a wolf in sheep's clothing

In <i>Environmental Manufacturing LLP v OHIM</i>, which concerned a wolf’s head logo, the General Court has reinterpreted the landmark <i>INTEL</i> decision on detriment to the distinctive character of a reputed mark. The decision circumvents the extremely problematic requirement set out in <i>INTEL</i> to show detriment by means of a change in the economic behaviour of the average consumer of the earlier mark consequent on use of the later mark.

'This is our show', entertainment company claims

A US entertainment company has brought an action against two Indian television companies for trademark and copyright infringement. The US company alleges that the Indian television series '<i>Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai</i>' is an adaptation of its well-known show 'This is Your Life'.
